This is the road into Bonnie Springs near Red Rock Canyon. I woke up one morning and saw snow on the mountains and low thick clouds as I drove to the store. I decided to head back to the house and get my Canon 7D DSLR and off I went. Was well worth the trip! You should see this in a large metallic print. Awesome! Buy one! I love this scene. It's not that often one can see snow in Las Vegas!
This is also the Bonnie Springs area going west on Blue Diamond Road!
Heading out Blue Diamond Road near the Red Rock Canyon area!
I really loved this view from Blue Diamond Road. I wanted to capture the foreground and have it lead the viewers eye to the red rock canyon landscape. The color unfolds in differing stages!
Red Rock Canyon View Looking North-east from Bonnie Springs.
This small town is truly remarkable. It's an old mining town about a 45 minute ride south of vegas and not too far from Boulder City. Beautiful views. The winding road through the town "dead ends" at the Colorado River. Horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, swiming, hiking...in a very natural environment, mostly untouched.
This is the main store and the ONLY store I've ever seen in town. There is so much cool "stuff" in here. How about one of the longest rattlesnake skins ever found? Pictures, antiques, and some photos you may never see anywhere else!
This is a great view of Lake Mead on the way to Boulder City and Hoover Dam. I try to frame my shots using the natural curves and angles of nature and draw your attention back to center!
The Hoover Dam is a wonder of the world, but so is the new by-pass bridge that was built over the highest parts of the mountains so through traffic could flow and security could be increased over the dam itself! Damn!
Las Vegas is simply unbelievable. All these photos I'm showing you today...30 minutes to one hour away from the strip. So, I started taking you on a journey west to Bonnie Springs, Red Rock Canyon...then south to Nelson Nevada...then east and southeast to Lake Mead and Boulder City....and now east/northeast to the Valley of Fire!
I love this angle looking into the Valley of Fire. I guess if you ride a motorcycle, you'd really understand. I just want to jump into the photograph and RIDE!
