Our Grand Daughters are Maliah, age 2-1/2 and Layloni, 5 months. What a joy its been photographing the two of them. Sure, it's helped my skills, but the sheer joy of seeing them in photos is what it's all about to me! In this photo, Layloni just came home from the hospital and Maliah laid down beside her. I quickly grabbed one of my portable lights and lit the scene just enough to get this image without a flash for a natural affect. Anyone can get a "cute" picture of a baby, especially when they are new born or very young. I have several wonderful images of our grand-daughter. She's almost three years old now and I really have to work at it to get a picture now. She's wiggly and squiggly and always looking for something to do besides get in front of a camera. It's more challenging now.

But when a photographer takes pictures of new borns, he or she should try to capture an interaction or special moment or expression. That's what I try to do! Here's an image of a new born that I thought was kind of a special moment.

This is my neighbors pet Sunny! She is a gem and her colors are very beautiful! She was having some fun sitting in her front yard tree this past fall on a nice warm day. When I saw her out there with her owner, I got my camera and snapped a few shots.

Well, it's been a very long time since I posted to my blog. This is a pic of my neighbor who already takes modeling classes. My website is updated. It takes me an awful long time to get things done because my knee is so painful and unpredictable, that I just can't get things done. Sometimes, I go two or three days without any real sleep because of it. I'm trying out a new brace this week and hopefully that will help.

I have to admit, I am normally very composed when I do photography no matter how beautiful the model. I am serious and I am professional. But once in a while there is a certain model that poses and looks a certain way that almost makes me drop my camera!!!! Here is "Aholani".

In door studio shots of a motorcycle with a lot of chrome has been a major challenge, especially considering I have to expose and light correctly for both the bike AND the model. I learned a lot from this shoot with a model (Her name is "Yuuz"). My next shoot with the bike will be better!

Even though some women may think its sexist to refer to a hot bike or car as "she", us guys always did it because with some hot rods there's a commonality with a beautiful woman...that is, curves, lines, and a certain "attitude". Sorry to those that are offended, but I will always refer to my 2004 Honda Rune as....."SHE"....

Post Editing Work

My goal is always to take a picture that requires very little editing. I plan ahead with lighting, background, and camera settings that will provide an image that needs only slight improvements. However, post editing, photo-shopping, and image manipulation can be lots of fun and I'm impressed by all those digital masters out there. Here's a picture of Michelle using what is called a "particle" filter, in this case, the "particles" being bubbles!!!

"The Wise Guys"

Photography can be work, but it should be fun. If it's fun, it sure doesn't feel like work! And that's how I like it! Naturally, photographing beautiful models can be fun. But it took four "WISE GUYS" to really remind me of just how fun photography should be. These guys wanted some "serioius" photos done, but they also wanted some "fun" ones. Well, after about 10 serious snaps, the fun broke out. So, without further adew.....I introduce to you.....The "WISE GUYS"....

Motorcycle Calendar

Well, my next project is going to be a motorcycle calendar using local models and local bikes from Las Vegas. Of course, I'll be using my own bike, which is one of 1200 made in 2004 called the Honda Valkyrie RUNE! Its an awesome bike and very unique. Not a chopper, but a true custom.
